Membership at Urban Bridge
At Urban Bridge Church, we acknowledge that there are different “spaces” of belonging. Someone may never attend our services, but follow our website and feel part of this community. They are indeed a part of us. There are others who serve us professionally and through that have built relationships with our community. They, too, belong.
For us, membership is not a way to belong. It is, rather, a step of commitment to our community that one can take which allows them to be held accountable by the church more formally, and to hold us to account as well. Membership is not about belonging at all, but about commitment, and all are invited to become members when they are comfortable doing so. All are also welcome to refrain from membership for as long as they wish. We refuse to create lines of demarcation with membership, but do see the importance of the accountability and commitment it can provide.
