Urban Kids
Kids are a welcome part of the Urban Bridge family.
We are excited to have them join us each Sunday at Urban Kids! Our approach to children’s ministry may not be exactly what you are used to, but it is what works well for our community, emphasizing the importance of our children, and the incarnation of our five core values in their lives.
Vanguard College Student joins Urban Kids!
Urban Bridge is delighted to have Samantha join us this year as the Children’s and Family Ministry practicum student from Vanguard College (a local Bible College). Sam is a great fit into our community and we are privileged to have her with us!
Here’s what you can expect each week;
- Babies and toddlers will enjoy supervised play together in the foyer. They’re close enough to hear and respond to any “sirens” they may sound off.
- Older kids experience stories, crafts, snacks, singing and more in our childrens rooms.
- All ages will be encouraged to discover Jesus together as we play, learn, create, make friends and belong.
Some basic details to know:
- Urban Kids begins after our coffee time together (around 10:40) and runs until about midway through our worship/singing time (around 11:40)
- Urban Kids currently caters to toddlers and younger elementary age children. Older children can interact with activity bags available at the back, and pre-teens and up can enjoy church or even help out in various ways if they choose
- We encourage families to enjoy church together. We understand this works better for some families than for others, but we encourage an integrated approach and children of any age are welcome to join our gathering all the way through.
- Many of our volunteers are parents themselves. “It takes a village to raise a child” and that mentality plays out as we all pitch in on Sunday mornings.
- Urban Kids volunteers are currently going through a Plan To Protect certification program to ensure the optimum safety for all of our children
