Urban Bridge Artist Workshop
June 12-13, 2009
A one-day intensive workshop hosted by UBC at Orange Hall in Edmonton, AB. The workshop will feature 2 important streams of life affecting Creatives today:
Identifying your Creativity + Sustaining your Creativity
Identifying Your Creativity: TJ and Cora Mclachlan
TJ and Cora have a beautiful heart to pastor and cultivate creativity in their friends. Both lead small groups focusing on developing one’s creativity; Cora hosts a songwriter’s collective and TJ leads the photography group. Cora will be leading a 2 hr workshop on identifying your creativity, getting over “writer’s block” and other creative endeavors.
Sustaining Your Creativity: Gary + Karla Adolphe + Dave Von Bieker
Gary + Karla Adolphe have been traveling arts missionaries for 3 years, and love to initiate creativity and sustainable business ideas. Gary and Karla will talk about how to write a mission statement, business plan, funding projects, planning tours, houseconcerts and more in a 2 hr block focusing on the different levels of vocational creativity.
Connecting Your Creativity: Dave Von Bieker
Dave Von Bieker is a man of many talents, who has created an innovative role of serving and facilitating artists in Edmonton’s Alberta Avenue community. Dave will talk about how to be a connected and effective local artist, and the multitude of ways one can engage their community.
Here is the tentative schedule for Saturday, June 13:
10:00-12:00pm – Identifying your creativity – TJ + Cora
12:00-1:00pm – LUNCH BREAK
1:00-3:00pm – Sustaining your creativity – Gary + Karla
3:00-4:00pm – Connecting your creativity – Dave
Cost $20/person includes Friday Night House Concert
