Urban Bridge Church Moves (Even More) Downtown

Hi Everyone

As you know for the past number of months we have been looking for a new location to hold our Sunday morning gatherings.

The Royal Alberta Museum has been a great venue for the past four years but recognizing that the theatre will be undergoing renovations we always knew it would not be permanent.

We have prayed, held meetings and visited a number of potential sites.

Thanks to all who joined in helping select a new site.

Effective Aug 8 our new meeting place is at MacEwan University in the CN Conference Theatre (180 seats located on the first floor of the 105th Street Building and Classroom 5-106 and 5-110).

The university is in the heart of urban Edmonton, where we want to be, and there is excellent public transit to the campus.

We have dedicated childcare space, lots of on-street parking and … we can take coffee into the theatre.

Over the next weeks we will give more updates and information for the transition.

HIV Edmonton Backpacks

This Sunday, November 29th is the last Sunday to bring in items for the HIV Edmonton backpacks.
We set a goal of doing fifteen backpacks this year. To date we have one, so we appreciate anything that you can bring.

If you want to get involved, but don’t want to do an entire backpack, no problem! Bring what you can on Sunday and we’ll gladly put them together with other items to fill a backpack.

Not sure what to get? Here are some ideas:

Sophisticated, intelligent, educated and influential, he successfully immersed himself in the complexities of culture often counter to his beliefs, yet maintained a simple faith in God.

Soup on Sunday CHILI and Salad Lunch and Farewell for Tim Bratton— July 20, 2008:

As usual it will be immediately after Urban Bridge Service and everyone is welcome.
Our Hosts will be be Doug & Karen Bratton.
Location: 2098 Blackmud Creek Drive. South Entrance, the Social Room (look for UBC signs).
There is visitor parking around back or on the street.

The nest SOS is actually a BBQ on Sunday.
It is on Sunday June 8th right after church at Brad and Debbie Fawcett’s. As usual, all are welcome and if you’ve never been to SOS before this will be a great first time experience.

Buns, meat, and condiments will be provided for the same low price of $3/person, $8/family.

Help us help AIDS orphans and widows in Rwanda

This Sunday, April 22, is the second opportunity you will have to give money towards building Mercy Centers in Africa. These centers provide shelter and much more for women and children who have lost husbands and parents to AIDS in Rwanda.

As you may recall, 20% of all of our income goes to our mercy value, and so we have a full $10 000 to send to Rwanda already. We would like to see God move in a miraculous way this week to increase that number greatly throught the generosity of the church. It’s time to change lives by being a generous borrower.
