What to expect: Sheltered Picnic site at Capilano Park!  Barbecued meats & nonmeats! Games & fun! A generally good time to be had by all!

Things to bring: A-M, please bring a salad or snack item N-Z, please bring a dessert or sweet treat
A contribution towards the cost of the event will be appreciated: $3/person, $8/family
A chair if you want one to sit in.
Sporting equipment of your preference if you want to organize an impromptu game.

Hey Urban Bridge friends. Come out and support one of your own at The Carrot on July 23. The Carrot is Dave’s favorite venue to play, and Dave’s new MacBook is ready to work overtime. Expect some new songs, hope for some special guests, and know that beyond a shadow of a doubt, there will be a banjo present. Families welcome, too. Dave’s kids need companions (and their cover is free).

Summer at Urban Bridge is story time.

Previous years have taken us on adventures with fictional characters to fantasy worlds of our making. This summer, the adventures are real and the characters are members of the Urban Bridge community.

Join us throughout the summer to hear personal stories from the journeys of the Urban Bridge Church family. Discover shared pain, joy, struggle and celebration as you find your own story within the stories of the community.

“Walk across Edmonton” creates awareness for the needs of the developing world. Walkers are encouraged to make a micro-loan ($25 or more) to an entrepreneur through KIVA. You can join the “Walk Across Edmonton” team (see link below) or any other team you so desire. On July 4th, join us for an afternoon of inspiration, teaching and conversation with professional artist and curator Edward Van Vliet. Edward will lead is in conversations at the heart of art, faith, identity and calling.

Looking to discover the next step on your journey as an artist? Looking to learn what that word, artist, even means? Or at least, what it means for you? Sign up ASAP to be part of the lucky “first 15″ able to attend this special afternoon. Oh, and dinner is included!

This Sunday will be a very special gathering at Urban Bridge, as the bulk of our time together will be led by The Pre/Post Project. The Pre/Post Project fuses music and storytelling in a dynamic presentation that introduces audiences to the lives of marginalized urban youth.

Mat Halton is a youth worker and a singer/songwriter, so The Pre/Post Project is a blend of those life passions and an experiment in art for social change. Mat Halton and The Pre/Post Project have been supported by Urban Bridge over the past year through I Love Artists. Essentially this means we’ve been developing a relationship with them, and have helped them in some practical ways like putting together promotional materials and a website for their Pre/Post Project. This Sunday, they are going to share that project with us first hand.

The time (10 AM) and location (Royal Alberta Museum Theatre) are the same as always. But our time together will be anything but routine. Be prepared for an inspiring and challenging morning.
