its true our wealth shouldn’t determine our spiritual state but thousands of years of experience shows us that if often does – Not always, but often. I know people whose wealth hasn’t caused them to spin into materialism, unfortunatley I know many more who haven’t been successful at managing the two.

I’m slightly confused as to how a $200,000 car is sin. Or how wanting it is a sin. Is it too expensive or too fast? Either way, I don’t think that equates to sin.

How are our desires sinful when Proverbs 13:12 says “Hope deferred makes the heart sick, But desire fulfilled is a tree of life.”?

To me it sounds like it wasn’t your desire that is the problem here, rather the control you want and the trust you are/were (?) lacking in the provision of God. “Financial security” seems to be a big can of worms in my opinion.

As for having nice or expensive things, I don’t think it’s sinful to be wealthy or to have nice things any more than it is righteous to be poor. Your financial status cannot determine the status of your soul & spirit.

These are my honest thoughts and questions. Not trying to pick a fight, just throwing my own quick thoughts on this out there.
