dialog.
dialog. It’s a simple word which speaks of discussion and conversation. There is no hierarchy in dialog, and sometimes dialog is the best place to start when dealing with difficult issues.
There is a lot of bad blood between the Church and the LGBT (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender) community, and it’s not something we can ignore. Bridges have been burned and quite often either side wants nothing to do with the other. It is our belief that we do not need to be divided, that a bridge can be built and that it starts in a place of openness, acceptance, and humility. It starts with dialog.
So we are starting a smaller group at Urban Bridge Church for those interested in discussing pertinent issues between the LGBT community and the Church. Our hope is that this group will lead to building meaningful relationships with our LGBT friends and neighbors.
Our starting point will be looking at a video series called Bridging the Gap: Conversations on Befriending our Gay Neighbors, and we will be watching a short video with discussion afterwards.
