This Sunday will be a very special gathering at Urban Bridge, as the bulk of our time together will be led by The Pre/Post Project. The Pre/Post Project fuses music and storytelling in a dynamic presentation that introduces audiences to the lives of marginalized urban youth.

Mat Halton is a youth worker and a singer/songwriter, so The Pre/Post Project is a blend of those life passions and an experiment in art for social change. Mat Halton and The Pre/Post Project have been supported by Urban Bridge over the past year through I Love Artists. Essentially this means we’ve been developing a relationship with them, and have helped them in some practical ways like putting together promotional materials and a website for their Pre/Post Project. This Sunday, they are going to share that project with us first hand.

The time (10 AM) and location (Royal Alberta Museum Theatre) are the same as always. But our time together will be anything but routine. Be prepared for an inspiring and challenging morning.

Who: Anyone who is currently involved or would like to be involved in the worship ministry at UBC.

What: The purpose of this weekend is to allow an opportunity for all the people involved to grow together as a team, gain a greater understanding of leadership, and have an opportunity for spiritual renewal as we worship and pray together.  We will also spend time writing worship songs for our community and being challenged by a guest speaker.

Cost: The whole weekend will be $40/person including food.

Please bring: Pillow, sleeping bag/bedding, your personal stuff, and your instrument (if it can be transported)

“We are hoping that as many people as possible will be able to participate in the UBC Worship Retreat.  If you plan to attend, you need to let me know by Sunday, October 18.  If you are only able to attend a portion of the weekend, please let me know as well, so that we can let Birch Bay know our numbers for meals.

I am looking forward to all that God has in store for us for this retreat.  I encourage you to prepare for this weekend by praying and asking God to show us his dreams for this important ministry.

A rare treat! Cora and Dave will be playing together on each other’s songs as well as doing some solo songs. Come for great food, atmosphere, community and of course music.

Where: Lendrum Mennonite Brethren Church (11210 59 Ave, Edmonton)

This program will feature oratio choruses by Brahms, Haydn, Shutz, as well as anthems, new compositions and arrangements of traditional spirituals.

Admission is FREE (offering will be taken).
