Theologizers Meet: Laughter, No Fisticuffs

Wednesday, September 16th, 2009

The Urban Bridge Theologizers group had a great first meeting last night and are excited about diving in. The group is diverse, with men and women, younger folk, older folk, and folk in between. We include lawyers, an artist, a linguist, a facilitator, and a even that most rare breed, a professional theologian! We also represent a diversity of church backgrounds including United, Lutheran, Anglican, Baptist, and Pentecostal.

We’d love to involve as many people ‘outside’ our group as possible, and to that end we’ll be posting regularly on the Urban Bridge blog with updates on our meetings and musings on our material. You can also join our open Facebook group to get in on our discussions, get a look at the material we’re using, and join in.

You’re also welcome to just drop-in whenever you can make it. We’ll be setting out readings and resources in advance so you can look at what we’ll be discussing on any given day, even if you weren’t there the week before.

For now, meetings will be held every other Tuesday, from 7:30 to 9:30 (at the latest), mostly at the Drennan’s abode, but occasionally moving to alternate locations. Drop Scott a line (s.drennan@gmail.com) or give us a call (780-760-5123) if you want to get involved!

Our next meeting is Tuesday, September 29, at 7:30 at Scott and Lindsay Drennan’s place.
